Read the entire notice, preserve the original, and identify the response deadline and delivery address. A response should make it easy to connect each requested item to the evidence provided.
- Create a numbered issue list from the notice.
- Match each issue to an exhibit or a clear explanation.
- Include the requested response sheet and retain proof of timely delivery.
Escalate legal questions
An RFE may reveal an eligibility or credibility issue. Document organization is not a substitute for legal analysis, and some responses should be reviewed by a licensed immigration attorney.
